International Student Admission Requirements
Thinking of studying in Canada?
At Capstone Edge College we are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for international students. Our policies are designed to ensure that you have the best possible experience while studying here, from application procedures to student services. We look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals and making your time with us a memorable experience.
Our International Student Policy
Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
As per current Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) guidelines, international students graduating from licensed programs at a private career college in Alberta are not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Health Insurance
Students under 18 years of age must be added to the AHCIP account of a custodian. Students who hold a 12-month study permit (valid for an Alberta educational institution) and plan to reside in Alberta for 12 months or more are eligible for AHCIP coverage and should apply.
We strongly encourage international students to purchase adequate coverage when not covered by AHCIP (i.e., for studies shorter than 12 months duration).
Arrival and Orientation Services for International Students
Our Admission Officer and Career Counsellors at Capstone Edge College facilitate and provide necessary information, orientation, and support on cross-cultural interpersonal relationship skills to international students, helping them understand, become familiar with, and settle into their new Country. We also provide support resources and orientation information to help our students become familiar with their new community, including information on how to comply with requirements that will enhance their academic success and adjustment to the new environment, such as the Centre for Newcomers in Calgary. Our Admission Officer and Career Counsellors are always available through email and phone to provide timely responses on any student-related issues as might be required at info@capstonecollege.ca

Cross-cultural Communication Skills and knowledge of Cultural adjustment and Adaptation
Cross-cultural communication skills and knowledge of cultural adjustment are crucial for foreign students to thrive in new academic and social environments. Developing these skills allows students to navigate cultural differences effectively, fostering better relationships, reducing misunderstandings, and enhancing their overall experience.
Our counsellors will be providing this support and orientation for the international students to help them in their adjustment to new academic and social environments. They will cover the Key Components of Cross-Cultural Communication, Cultural Adjustment and Adaptation, and the Strategies for Developing Cross-Cultural Communication Skills.
